I acknowledge and agree to the following guidelines outlined for the Free Car Wash Friday event hosted by Downriver Community Federal Credit Union (also referred to as "DownriverCU"): (1) Because the safety of the students is of the utmost importance, a minimum of one sponsor or chaperone will be required for every 10 students participating in the event. (2) It will be the responsibility of the sponsors and chaperones to clearly communicate safety instructions to the students and monitor that those instructions are being followed throughout the event. (3) To avoid potential injuries caused by moving vehicles near the students, it is important that the event be segmented into a "wash station" and a "dry station", and that only a sponsor or chaperone be responsible to signal the driver to advance once all students have backed away from the vehicle. (4) Participating organizations are expected to stay for the entire duration of the event (weather permitting), which will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Organizations are welcome to request an extension to that timeframe if they wish to increase their fundraising opportunity. Any group that does not show up on their assigned day without a 24-hour advance notice will be disqualified from participating in future events. (5) DownriverCU will provide the use of the parking lot, hoses, car wash soap, and either a pizza or hot dog lunch. It will be the responsibility of each organization to supply buckets, sponges, rags, brushes, towels, drying racks, shelter tent, or any other supplies to effectively facilitate the event. (6) Car washes are promted as being "free" but we since this is a fundraiser, we encourage tactful solicitation of donations from those getting their car washed and will match all donations received as a result of the car wash activities up to a maximum total amount of $500.00. (7) Organizations will be expected to complete the tasks listed on the End-of-Event Checklist to ensure that all credit union provided supplies are returned to the enclosed patio area at the end of the car wash.
