DownriverCU Reaches Milestone in Helping Downriver Businesses
May 9, 2022, Southgate, MI— The Downriver Community Federal Credit Union will be hosting their 200th workshop in the “Grow Your Business” series on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This special event will be held in the Community Room of DownriverCU’s Southgate Office (15261 Trenton Rd.). This series is comprised of monthly workshops and annual conferences designed to help people gain the knowledge and skills they need to grow their business. Each workshop in the series is presented by local, national, and international personal and business growth experts on topics relating to sales, marketing, and personal development.
To mark this special occasion, the speaker for this event will be internationally-recognized author and speaker, Michael Angelo Caruso, who will be giving a presentation on “Getting Attention in a Noisy World”. This will be a fun and engaging workshop where attendees will learn how to leverage the psychology of attention, improve their value proposition, increase engagement with easy personalization tricks, use effective social media hacks, and become a recognized expert in their industry.
Michael was one of the earliest speakers in the series, with his first appearance being in 2009 when he spoke on the topic of “Being the Best.” Since then, there has been a diverse line-up of speakers and a variety of topics, such as Billye Thompson, “Build Your Business Using LinkedIn”; Kurt David,“Face Change Like a Champion”; Tom Borg, “How to Avoid Business Etiquette Blunders”; Josh Linkner, “Disciplined Dreaming: How to Drive Breakthrough Creativity”; Shawn Duperon, “Demystifying Media: The Real Scoop on How to Get Free Press & Publicity”; and many others.
“Downriver Credit Union is committed to providing resources that help people accomplish great things in their personal and business lives,” says Robert La Palme, President and CEO for the Credit Union, “and these workshops have made a positive impact on hundreds of people in our community for many years now.”
For many years, the workshops were held in the “Center for Excellence” Hall at The Guidance Center. When the Credit Union started making plans to build a new Southgate Office, the decision was made to include a Community Room, which would be a multi-purpose room used for both Credit Union and community-oriented events, as well as by local community organizations such as the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber, Downriver Business Association, Southgate Rotary, Downriver Toastmasters, and others.
A small registration fee of $5.00 is being charged for those who would like to attend the 200th Grow Your Business event, which includes breakfast, networking, and the workshop. Members of Downriver Community Federal Credit Union can attend at no charge. Space is limited to those who register online at www.DownriverCU.com/events.
